Not only are our activities a blast to participate in, but our student staff loves working in our program. With over 60 work-study jobs, and 15 volunteer positions open each year – there’s a place for you to be apart of our team – the Rec N’ Crew! Each of our positions are managed by one of our student supervisors, a great opportunity to truly harness your leadership skills and development high-functioning management techniques.
Intramural Officials/Scorekeeper – A great position if you’re high-energy and love meeting new people! Student leaders in this position do all of the little things to make sure each intramural game and event is at it’s best. This lively team, made up of about 20 students, is led by our Intramural Sports Senior Supervisor work-study students.
Lifeguard – If you love the water and you’re a certified lifeguard, then let us know! We’re always looking for qualified, friendly staff to manage our waterfront property, check out boats and other equipment to students, and supervise the swim area. Each year, we employ 10-12 lifeguards and a head lifeguard.
Front Desk Attendant, Athletics & Recreation Center – 20 students are hired every year to provide amazing customer service at the front desk of our indoor athletics and recreation facility. This position is trained to be highly knowledgeable and serve as a great resource. Students in this role are managed by the Front Desk Senior Supervisor work-study position.
Fitness Assistant/Student Coach – If you love wellness and
exercise and want to help students attain their fitness goals, then be sure to apply! Students in this role work 1-on-1, or in small groups to help their classmates find success in their wellness goals. Fitness Assistants are also responsible for the cleanliness and organization of our weight room and cardio room and assist in running our fitness-based programming.
Advisory Council – This volunteer position attracts 15 – 20 students each year to help us continue on our path of excellence. This group is the brains and creative energy behind the recreation program – they represent the student body to provide advice and ideas for programs, equipment, advertisements, facility improvements, staffing, awards, strategies, and initiatives.
