Fitness Center & Programs

The Office of Campus Recreation manages the scheduling and operations of fitness/wellness programs and the fitness center, as well as the maintenance and care of equipment.

Check out our facilities and the long list of programs we offer!

Auxiliary Gym – This 1900-square-foot enclosed gym features a specifically designed floor and high-end portable basketball hoops, and a drop-down batting cage. The gym hosts a majority of our group exercise classes, intramural contests, club sport practices, and a variety of other recreational and instructional activities.

Cardio Room – This fitness center offers treadmills, exercise bikes, and ellipticals. Each piece of cardiovascular equipment is outfitted with a television, providing each user personal access to more than 70 channels. Areas for stretching, and abdominal exercises, free weights, stability balls, yoga mats, exercise benches, and medicine balls are also available.

Main Gym – With a traditional wood court, the main gym is home to our intercollegiate volleyball and basketball programs. When it’s not in use for athletic games and practices, it is utilized for intramural activities as well as pickup games and other informal recreation activities.

Weight Room – Located on the ground level of the Weed Physical Arts Center, the weight room is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including an assortment of Cybex selectorized machines, free weights, and fitness platforms. The weight room has everything for beginners as well as seasoned weightlifters and competitive athletes.

Group Exercise – Get your heart pumping and your muscles contracting with any one of our fitness classes. At Keuka, we provide access to an assortment of fun and results-oriented group exercise classes that cover all the essentials of total fitness and wellness. Classes are free and open to all students, faculty, and staff.

Wellness Week – Typically, in late September, Campus Rec co-sponsors Keuka’s official Wellness Week.  Throughout the week, we offer a variety of educational documents and workshops, as well as specialty services and programs to help you identify and achieve your goals!

Certified StormFIT Rewards Program – Earn cool gear for working out!  Earn a point for every visit to the weight room, the cardio room, an intramural game, or group exercise class.  When you hit a milestone you’ll receive custom gear – past prizes have included water bottles, T-shirts, and drawstring gym bags!

1-on-1 Training – Don’t know how to use a piece of equipment?  Has your current workout gone stale?  Just want to check and make sure you’re not doing something wrong?  Students can sign up as an individual, or with a friend, to meet with a student coach and receive personal help with anything they need.

Tips & Featured Workouts – Campus Rec regularly updates the bulletin boards in the fitness center.  You can typically find featured workouts, upcoming events, top health and fitness apps, FAQs, and nutrition guidelines.

Health & Fitness Club – If you’re looking for a training partner or have an interest in helping others reach their fitness goals, then this club is for you!  The club’s main purpose is to provide support to any interested student and help them reach their fitness goals.  They achieve their purpose through small group and partner workouts, and special programs.  They often work with Campus Recreation to co-sponsor special events.

Contests & Events – There are plenty of one-day challenges, competitions, and events for students to show off their muscles.  Previous programs have included themed 5K runs,  such as the Turkey Trot or Zombie Runs; a Push-up Challenge; a fun obstacle course-style run; a high-intensity circuit training event called the Keuka KrossFit Challenge; and a strongman/woman competition. For more information on specific events, check out the intramurals page.
